Winter in the Sun

Looking to get away from the cold of the Highveld for a few days, the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape could not be a better choice. The winter temperatures are milder which make it wonderful for taking those long walks on the beach and just chilling out. The position of Crawford’s Beach Lodge is ideal for sightseeing trips around the area. From just a few kilometres away to longer drives of 2 to 4 hours for various interesting sites and game parks.

The Addo Elephant Park is 377 km away, great for the kids to see the Big Five: lion, buffalo, leopard, rhino and elephant of which there a 450 living there. Additionally, in the ocean, whales and Great White sharks can also be observed. Also interesting archaeological and historical sites to wander around.

Hogsback 175 km away which, could be possibly ankle deep in snow where you can experience Christmas in July.

Mpongo game reserve is 37 km away which offers sights of the Big Five, night game drives, picnics and guides to help you recognise the various birds and other features of the tour.

The Inkwenkwezi private game reserve is only 8km away. The friendly guides from the game park will pick you up from Crawford’s Lodge and take you back after the safari is over. Here you can also see the animals at night and experience sunset drives.

After your day out you can return to the excellent food and service given by lodge and sit contemplate what you have seen during the day or chat to the other guests in the bar.
